What’s going on with Mosaikashop and Suzanne?

Well lots! Things are changing and Mosaikashop and I have to adapt to be able to keep on! Mosaikashop is moving end of July to the building Pied Carré on 5445 de Gaspé. This decision has been made in order to accommodate the demand for more materials, even though Mosaikashop is moving into a smaller space. Thanks to my personal promotion of my works since 8 years now, I am suddenly traveling ever more to teach mosaics abroad and at the same time, I am also invited and to promote my personal mosaic works, my school Mosaikashop, and to participate in competitions. So it is a lot of tricky and challenging logistics! I am grateful for my little team of helpers who volunteer so much of their time, Constance, Jeanine, and Alan.  This is an exceptional times for me and Mosaikashop but still I cannot resist to promote my passion for mosaics by inviting mosaic artists from all over the world to teach their techniques. Stay connected and in touch with all I have to offer via this blog or on Facebook which turns out to be the quickest way to get flash news out; such as the arrival of new materials, opening hours etc…

Que se passe-t’il avec Mosaïkashop et Suzanne?

Plein de choses! Les temps changent, Mosaïkashop et moi devons s’adapter pour pouvoir continuer! Mosaïkashop déménagera fin juillet au “Pied carré” 5445 De Gaspé. Cette décision a été prise suite à une demande croissante pour plus de matériel, même si nous devons réduire le nombre de pieds carrés. Grâce à la promotion de mon travail personnel depuis 8 ans, je voyage de plus en plus à travers le monde afin de donner des cours et des conférences, de promouvoir mes œuvres et mon école Mosaïkashop et de participer à des symposiums et compétitions. C’est un petit peu compliqué à organiser! Je remercie ma petite équipe Constance, Jeanine et Alan pour leur précieux temps! En plus de toutes ces belles choses qui m’arrivent, ma passion me pousse à inviter des artistes mosaïstes de partout pour vous enseigner leur technique. Restez informés via ce blog ou Facebook de tout ce qui concerne la boutique, l’arrivée de nouveaux matériaux, des heures d’ouverture etc….

 Important notice: Mosaikashop will consider all left material and mosaics as abandoned as of June 30. Please come by to pick up your works, material, or finish your works by then. This time I am not moving any mosaics anymore. Thank-you for your understanding.

 Avis important: au 30 juin, toute œuvre ou matériel sera considéré comme abandonné. SVP venez chercher vos œuvres, votre matériel ou venez terminer vos pièces. Cette fois-ci, je ne déménage aucune œuvre. Merci de votre compréhension.

May at Mosaikashop

 Suzanne went to Austin, Texas. The class was such a hit that I am proud to be invited again! The date is to be announced in the fall.

Suzanne est allée à Austin, Texas. Son cours a connu un tel succès qu’on l’a réinvitée! Les dates seront annoncées cet automne.

The team at Mosaika and Mosaikashop organized an exhibition, some amazing art works of all kinds….come by and see! The exhibition has been prolonged until mid July.

Une équipe de Mosaïka et Mosaïkashop a organisé une exposition, Venez voir des œuvres d’art extraordinaires! L’exposition se prolonge jusqu’à la mi-juillet.

Marcelo de Melo, coming to us from Brazil gave 3 wonderful classes and a talk. I personally found it highly enriching and you can be sure you will start seeing my works flow into another direction. It was all so very inspiring, stimulating, Marcelo is really passionate about what he does and says about mosaics. People were delighted to get a certificate!

Marcel de Melo, venu du Brésil, a donné 3 cours extraordinaires et une conférence. Je les ai trouvés personnellement enrichissants et vous pouvez être assurés de voir mes œuvres prendre une autre direction à l’avenir. C’était tellement inspirant et stimulant. Marcelo est passionné par son travail lorsqu’il parle mosaïque. Ses étudiants étaient ravis de recevoir un diplôme!

Mosaikashop Picks

Big congratulations to Gina who was determined to interpret in mosaic an Indian textile of hers which was falling apart. She was great at following my instructions and advice to the letter! I was super delighted with the results, now her textile is eternal…ahhh mosaics.

Toutes mes félicitations à Gina qui était déterminée à interpréter en mosaïque son tissu indien très détérioré. Elle a suivi mes instructions et conseils à la lettre! Je suis ravie du résultat et maintenant son tissu est éternel…ahhhh la mosaïque!

Valérie did this most charming tree with lots of love and determination as always!

Valérie a utilisé beaucoup d’amour et de détermination, comme toujours, pour réaliser cet arbre si charmant!

Jeannette worked the Mosaika ceramic tiles to perfection with this double portrait painting. She had taken the portrait class with Johanne Paquin.

Jeannette s’est servie des tuiles de céramique Mosaïka à la perfection pour son double portrait. Elle avait suivi le “cours portrait” avec Johanne Paquin.

Final words

I am proud to be invited amongst 10 nations to participate in a mosaic competition in Italy. The winner will get its chair exhibited at the Universal Fair in Milan, Italy. VOTE!
