OPEN CALL  EUROPE : ROSES FOR CARRARA PROJECT 2 for 2027

It is with great enthusiasm, and by popular demand, the wall of roses will continue thanks to the funding by Fondazione Marmo Ente Filantropico .

Mosaic Installation: 2027

The open call is for Europe or for works sent from Europe. This is for us to avoid the burden of customs.  Hand delivered works are most welcome too.

The picture you see is a clear dialogue with Carrara and what it can continue to be: it merits continued respect for its unique and absolute beauty. The people of Carrara are fed-up , we are tired of that writing on the wall next to the mosaic roses.

Want to participate? PLEASE READ THE FOLLOWING INSTRUCTIONS CAREFULLY :

1- Participants: open to all , professionals, semi-professionals, and hobbyists.

2- One to 3 roses per person. Please clearly write your name behind each rose and include your personal information: full name, adress, contact. Please include  a maximum one phrase quote or dedication. Please type it all, not everybody’s handwriting is easy to decipher and helps me avoid mistakes. You can also email me your information: suzanne@mosaikashop.com. It will also simplify the cataloguing process.

3- Measurements from 8 cm to 20 cm maximum. Flat or low relief, please take note that roses that are sculptures cannot be installed for safety reasons.

4- Materials permitted: smalti, natural stone, ceramic, broken crockery.

5- IMPORTANT mosaics must be ready to install. It must be made on a rigid cement meshed backing and grouted (if your work method requires grouting) Please make sure your installation glue and grout is suitable for outdoors. 

6- IMPORTANT : Proper packaging is an absolute must for sending to avoid damage!  Please sandwich your mosaic between rigid cardboard or styrofoam. If your mosaic has some relief, build a rigid styrofoam frame then cover with another Styrofoam.

7- Send your mosaic using real stamps (if you can) to:
