Je souhaite à tous mes abonnés une splendide année remplis d’inspirations pour la mosaïque. C’est avec beaucoup d’énergie que je vous reviens toute fraiche de vacance jumelé avec un atelier de mosaïque, ornement de Noel que j’ai donné en Argentine pendant la période des fêtes. Quelle expérience! Maté et la mosaïque. Voici quelques photos du cours et des mosaïques un peu partout. Grand merci à Ana-Maria, Javier, Carlos et Maureen qui m’ont aidé avec tout! (I want to wish all my subscribers a wonderful New Year filled with mosaic inspirations. It is with a lot of energy that I am back from vacation mixed with a mosaic workshop on Christmas ornaments in Argentina during my Christmas break. What an experience it was! Maté and mosaics. Here are a few photos of the workshop and mosaics around town. A big thank-you to Ana-Maria, Javier, Carlos and Maureen who helped make it happen. Ana-Maria and Javier are exceptional hosts!)

Cette mosaïque combinée avec de la gravure sur béton coloré a été réalisé par Maureen, Christina et des enfants de l’école.

(This mosaic combined with engraving coloured concrete was made by Maureen and Christina and children from the school where it is installed.)

Cours Hommage à Hundertwasser le 18 février. Il reste encore des places. Atelier d’un jour consacré à la coupe des smalti en petits morceaux – ‘micro’ et installation de l’œuvre sans coulis.

(One day workshop totally dedicated to cutting smalti in small pieces ‘micro’ and doing an installation without grout.)

L’atelier portera sur la technique de coupe des smalti, (ces merveilles de la tradition byzantine venant du Mexique) et sur la bonne utilisation de la pince à molette, cet outil pas toujours facile à maîtriser! Le projet mesure 5 x 7 po, l’image sera imposée, mais vous auriez un choix. Le sujet sera d’après une œuvre de Hundertwasser, la coqueluche de Mosaikashop!

(This workshop is dedicated to the technique of cutting smalti, these marvelous tiles from Mexico in the byzantine tradition. You will learn the ideal method of using the wheeled nippers, this tool not always easy to master! The project will measure 5X7inches, the design will be imposed but you will have a choice. The subject will be according to works of Hundertwasser, so much adored at Mosaikashop!)

Apprenez la technique ancienne de la mosaïque classique Romaine avec l’utilisation de la marteline et du tranchet.
Réalisez un détail d’une mosaïque Romaine fait avec du marbre.
Vendredi de 18h à 20h, samedi de 10h à 16h, dimanche de 11h à 16.
Coût: 285$ marteline et tranchet incluse ou

Les ateliers libres sont inclus dans le cours si vous ne finissez pas votre œuvre en un weekend.

You will make a detail of a roman mosaic using marble.

Mot de la fin

Mosaikashop se prépare tranquillement pour un déménagement dans un autre territoire Montréalais en juillet ou en décembre 2012, je vous tiendrais au courant de tout bien sure. Vu que j’aime bien me prendre à l’avance, je commence plus sérieusement à faire le vide des œuvres et du matériel considérés abandonné et aussi malheureusement avec le temps les œuvres sont à risque à force de devoir empiler et tasser. Une gestion pas facile par moment.

(Mosaikashop is slowly preparing for a move in an other Montreal neighborhood in July or December 2012. I will keep you posted when things will be decided 100%. Since I am dedicated to preparing such things in advance, I have seriously started taking care of abandoned mosaics and materials and with time unfortunately abandoned mosaics are at risk when they have to be constantly moved over or piled over. At moments managing this is not easy.)
