Why did I create this page?
My passion and curiosity for mosaics has led me to travel extensively and to meet people who are professional mosaic artists, instructors and writers. At Mosaikashop I often talk about what is happening in the mosaic world and this page is my putting all these professionals together so you can refer to it and learn and see what they do.
Pourquoi ai-je créé cette page?
Ma passion et ma curiosité pour la mosaïque m’ont amenée à voyager beaucoup et à rencontrer énormement de professionnels de la mosaïque: artistes, professeurs et auteurs. Je parle souvent chez Mosaikashop de tout ce qui se passe dans le monde de la mosaïque et cette page regroupe tous ces gens afin que vous puisssiez vous y référer, apprendre et y voir leurs oeuvres.

Christiane just could not wait to take the picassiette workshop, she let go her Mosaika style class for a short while and jumped into Picassiette with love…as you can see!
Christiane ne pouvait pas attendre! Elle a interrompu temporairement son cours “style Mosaïka” afin de suivre l’atelier Picassiette, elle a adoré comme vous pouvez le constater!

Saturday’s is always full house and now some days during the week too! Thursdays is starting to be crazy!
Nos samedis sont toujours très occupés ainsi que certains jours de la semaine! Nous commençons aussi à avoir des jeudis “fous”!
During the week I have started to feel eager for spring so attention: I have put out two boxes, one- To Give, second- For sale, CHEAP! Those boxes are already very popular!! Any mosaics considered abandoned or of which I cannot recall who did it, will go in one of those boxes. Please understand that there is a limit to how long I can keep your unfinished mosaics and materials, obviously my offering free unlimited studio time has backfired on me, too bad, now I forced to take action and set limits. Space is a problem and in the near future my space will be greatly reduced.
Cette semaine j’ai attrappé la “fièvre du printemps”! Alors attention! J’ai commencé à déposer des trucs dans 2 grosses boîtes: “À donner” et “À vendre pour pas cher”! Elles sont très populaires! Toute mosaïque abandonée ou dont je ne peux me rappeler le nom de l’étudiant ira dans une de ces 2 boîtes. Il faut comprendre qu’il y a une limite au temps de remisage des mosaïques incomplètes. Je me suis joué un tour en permettant les ateliers libres illimités pour terminer une pièce, dommage, maintenant je devrai imposer des limites. L’espace est restreint et le sera encore plus dans un proche avenir.
Mosaikashop is in its 4th year working at Selwyn House, and is excited about the children’s works this year, it will be grand! This year with Vanessa, who is the art teacher at Selwyn, we having 150 plus students do their self portraits in mosaics, to be installed as several murals. An ever ending thank-you to Mosaika for their precious leftover donations of their scrap tiles, with that we produce beauties in schools!! The project has been named The Irving Project inspired by Pamela Irving from Australia, whom I had the joy to meet 2 times. She is aware of this project and cannot wait to see the results. See the clip below about her idea and project in Australia. Visit her website too! I am happy to already announce that she will be coming to Mosaikashop in 2016 to teach. Selwyn House cannot wait to welcome her!

Mosaikashop travaille maintenant depuis 4 ans à l’école Selwyn House, et nous sommes emballés par le projet des étudiants cette année, il est gigantesque! Cette année, avec l’aide de Vanessa leur professeur en arts plastiques, plus de 150 étudiants ont réalisé leurs auto-portraits en mosaïque avec lesquels ils formeront plusieurs murales. Un immense merci à Mosaïka qui fournit, à partir du materiel restant de leurs grands projets, toutes les tuiles céramiques en morceaux nécéssaires à la fabrication de petits bijoux dans les écoles. Le projet se nomme “le projet Irving” d’après Pamela Irving d’Australie que j’ai eu le bonheur de rencontrer 2 fois. Elle est au courant du projet et est très impatiente de le voir!
