Important notice to people sending mosaic roses outside Europe. It has come to my attention many problems with packages where the declared value was written by sender above 25Euros. Those packages are automatically opened, withheld, then a registered letter is sent for me to confirm the value of the roses. It seems that customs is translating all this as merchant for resale thus I am charged customs. Many of you have accepted to reimburse me those fees which is highly appreciated. . To avoid problems make a rose that fits in a 33X23cm bubble envelope or smaller! Sandwich the mosaic between 2 rigid cardboard, roll it in thin wrap. Make the packaging as flat as possible. KIS, keep it simple!
Please take care to do the following, declare the works as no commercial value place the amount of 5US$ up to 20$US. Say it is a sample work or a gift. I suggest that if you are sending a small package declare the value of 5US$ and if you are sending a big box as a group to declare it at 20US$.
Let’s collaborate to make the receiving of the roses go smoothly from now on. I suggest you email me beforehand to let me know you have sent the package. This way I register your name on my list. Write me at suzanne@mosaikashop.com.
With your rose don’t forget to sign it on the backside and include a notecard with your name, city/country, and a quote about the rose. If you have already sent your rose and I have not sent you a notice of reception it might be because I don’t have your email contact, or cannot find you on Facebook, however I am mailing postcards instead. Please let me know if you have not gotten a notice.

It is with great honor that I announce the great enthusiasm coming from all around the world. People are taking to heart this project for Carrara! The estimated number of participants is over 200 from 17 nations so far!
The open call made the local papers on March 26. Here is the article that appeared.
“Vogliamo inviare a Carrara un bacio di rose per tutto quello che ha dato al mondo.” é il messaggio di Mari Sangoi, direttrice del gruppo brasiliano.
É con enorme piacere che annuncio il grande entusiasmo della riposta da tutto il mondo. In molti stanno prendendo a cuore il progetto per Carrara! Al momento si prevede la partecipazione di piú di 200 persone da 17 diverse nazioni!
L’invito aperto é stato pubblicato sui giornali locali il 26 Marzo. Questo l’articolo apparso:
“Nous désirons envoyer à Carrara un bisou de roses pour la remercier de tout qu’elle a donné au monde.” Mari Sangoi, directrice du groupe du Brésil.
C’est avec grand honneur que je vous partage ce grand enthousiasme venu de partout. Le monde prend à coeur ce projet pour Carrara! Le total de participants estimé est de 200 personnes venues de 17 nations, pour le moment!

For some odd reason they just put my picture without an example of the roses mosaic I had sent them so I then added some roses to the article and posted it on Facebook and the interest went even more viral! :
Per qualche motivo hanno messo solo la mia foto senza gli esempi di rose a mosaico che gli avevo inviato, allora ne ho aggiunto qualcuno alla foto dell’articolo e l’ho condiviso su Facebook, e l’interesse é diventato ancora piú virale!
Pour une raison inexpliquée ils n’ont mis que ma photo sans l’exemple de rose en mosaïque que j’avais envoyé. Alors j’ai rafistolé l’article en y ajoutant des roses et je l’ai affiché sur Facebook et l’interêt est devenu encore plus viral!
We prepared a formal letter which was sent to some 7 officials from Carrara requesting for a wall for the project and for our participation in organising a workshop during Con-vivere Festival. I am happy to announce that the workshop is now under consideration after a first initial meeting last week. It’s a start! But the wall we still have to seek approval. We had prepared a short presentation. Here are some details we presented:
Abbiamo preparato una lettera formale che é stata inviata a 7 funzionari pubblici per richiedere un muro che ospiti il progetto e per offrire la nostra partecipazione durante il Festival Con-vivere con l’organizzazione di un workshop. Sono felice di annunciare che il workshop é adesso in fase di valutazione, dopo una prima riunione iniziale la settimana scorsa. É un inizio! Ma per il muro stiamo ancora cercando il permesso. Abbiamo preparato una breve presentazione, ecco qui alcuni dei dettagli che abbiamo presentato:
On a préparé une lettre officielle qu’on a envoyée à sept fonctionnaires de Carrara demandant un mur pour l’installation du projet, et aussi de pouvoir participer au Festival Con-vivere et organiser un workshop pour tous. Je suis contente que le workshop sera considéré suite à notre première rencontre la semaine passée. C’est un début! Quant au mur il y a du travail encore à faire. On avait préparé une petite présentation. Voici quelques détails qu’on avait présentés:

As you can see, the wall is very big and so the number of rosetos can depend on the number of roses we receive. We also mentioned to the officials that this can be an annual project.
Come potete vedere, il muro é molto grande e quindi il numero di roseti potrá dipendere dal numero di rose che riceveremo. Nell’idea proposta all’amministrazione pubblica abbiamo anche suggerito che potrebbe diventare un progetto annuale.
Comme vous pouvez voir, le mur est très large, alors le nombre de rosiers va dépendre du nombre de roses reçues. Nous avons aussi mentionné aux dirigeants que ce projet pourrait devenir un projet récurant.
To help promote our project we requested to be part of the Con-vivere Festival which will take place September 9-12. During the event we want to organise a free workshop where people will be invited to make a rose. They loved the idea, we are currently waiting to know if it will be possible.
Per aiutare a promuovere il nostro progetto abbiamo richiesto di far parte del Festival Con-vivere, che avrá luogo dal 9 al 12 di Settembre. Durante l’evento vogliamo organizzare un workshop gratuito dove i partecipanti saranno invitati a creare la loro rosa. L’idea é piaciuta moltissimo, adesso stiamo aspettando di sapere se é possibile farlo.
Pour aider à promouvoir ce projet on a demandé de faire partie du Festival Con-vivere qui aura lieu du 9 au 12 septembre. Pendant cet événement nous désirons organiser des workshops gratuits invitant les participants à faire une rose. Ils ont adoré l’idée, nous attendons pour savoir si cela sera possible.

Please do take a moment to read it well to avoid disqualification (for example works made on wood are automatically disqualified). Do not hesitate to ask if you have questions via email, messenger etc. If you need a tutorial let me know I have made one in pdf format.

NB about the Mosaic Workshop and Walking Tour of Carrara: As my official participation is still in suspense and vaccination campaign not complete. I cannot organise an official international workshop and walking tour of Carrara this year. However, I will be launching an open call for those who want to assist me during Con-vivere Festival as soon as the workshop is approved completely and then another open call for when we will be ready to install the mural.
NB Riguardo al Workshop di Mosaico e il Tour a piedi di Carrara: dato che la mia partecipazione ufficiale é ancora in sospeso e la campagna di vaccinazione ancora in corso, quest’anno non potró organizzare ufficialmente un workshop internazionale e un tour della cittá. In ogni modo, appena il workshop al Festival Con-vivere sará completamente approvato invieró un invito aperto per tutti quelli che vorranno assistermi durante quell’evento, e quando saremo pronti per l’installazione dei roseti invieró un altro invito aperto.
NB à propos du Stage de mosaïque et le tour à pieds de Carrara: Puisque ma participation n’est toujours pas officiel et que la campagne de vaccination est toujours en cours, je ne peux pas organiser officiellement un stage de mosaïque et balade à pieds à Carrara cette année. Mais je lancerais un appel à tous pour qui aimerais m’assister pendant le Festival Con-vivere dès que je saurais pour sure que c’est un go. Par la suite je lancerais un autre appel pour l’installation de la murale.
